A Visual Transformation…from “In the Works” to “Fruition”

I share this room proudly…it all started with a mere vision. Pieces of a puzzle that came together to transform a forgotten space into an inviting living room that begs to be lived in.

Since I last posted a photo on Facebook with samples and swatches showing the various colors, textures, and materials to be used, lots has happened behind the scenes to bring this living room to life. I designed custom console tables that were crafted for niches which flank the gas fireplace and custom mantle, and then I accessorized them just enough, but never to overwhelm. Beautiful linen panels are finished off with a transitional silk tape along the leading edges. They beautifully hang on acrylic poles and create a clean backdrop so that the geometric wallpaper, that was masterfully applied, can shine.

A color scheme that’s so fresh and clean, reminds me of how energizing it is to have pops of color. A feeling of invigorating calm is evident in the custom art, reminders that the blue sea is not at all far. The ocean continues to make an appearance…from the scalloped shaped mirrors, to the art boxes which hang with sand dollars and shells. Upholstered pieces with clean lines, just enough detail, and a soothing palette complete this picture. Last, but certainly not least, further anchoring this beautiful space is one of my favorite pieces yet; a luxurious rug that begs to be rolled on and beckons us to skip the furniture and cozy up on the floor with a deck of cards….it’s going to be a relaxing and comfy night.
